Best TV Shows to Binge Watch
Hey Loves! This week I really wanted to talk about my top 5 favorite shows to binge watch. This summer I had a lot of free time to watch some different shows that you may or may not know about. My family and I watched most of these shows together, so you could consider them family friendly. It's always super cool to experience different incredible stories in these TV shows. All of these shows are well thought out and have a clear story line. Don't worry, there are no spoilers, just a synopsis of the story line. So without further ado, here are my top 5 favorite TV shows to binge watch:
Stars: Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosi Mamet, Andrew Rannells
Girls has been a show that I have watched on my own recently. The show is about four girls who live in Brooklyn, New York. They are just out of college and are trying to find their place in the world. They go through relationship struggles, drug addictions, and friend betrayal. The story goes in depth with each character and shows their strengths and flaws. Lena Dunham, center right, plays Hannah who is our main girl. Hannah is a writer and constantly struggles to get her books published. She has a lot of ambition. Lena also co-wrote the show and most of its episodes. Andrew Rannells is also on this show. He is absolutely hilarious and contributes laughter and positivity to the show.
WIth all of that said, it's not all family friendly. There is a lot of nudity and adult topics to discuss. Of course, I am thirteen and LOVE this show. I would recommend this TV show to teenagers thirteen and up. Even though these girls are funny, they are not the best of role models. They sleep around and have a poor choice of judgment. It makes for a great show, just make sure you understand the difference between right and wrong.
4. 30 Rock
Stars: Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer
30 Rock is probably one of the best shows I have ever watched. Talk about a great cast! 30 rock is about writing on NBC and working at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York. It follows Liz Lemon, Tina Fey, who is a woman in her mid-late thirties. She is the head writer for NBC and works hard to create good content. She becomes friends with Jack Donaghy, Alec Baldwin, her new boss. The show follows Liz Lemon's friendship with her boss and relationship with her colleagues. Tina Fey wrote the show and did an amazing job. This show is 100% family friendly. It is a network TV show so there is no nudity or profanity. This is an incredible show to watch with or without your family.
Stars: Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Dianna Agron, Darren Criss
Glee is a wonderful show about being a teenager and going to high school. The Glee club is a singing group that helps bring misfits together. Rachel Berry, Lea Michele, is a goodie two-shoes who wants to be a Broadway star. She joins the Glee club along with some of her friends and loves it. The Glee club is too small to compete, so they have to recruit people from the football team and cheer. It is an uplifting story that inspires you to follow your dreams and be yourself. I watched this show with my family, but there is some sexual content. There is no nudity, but there are topic to discuss. Overall, this show is a great show to watch with your tweens and teens.
2. Master of None
Stars: Aziz Ansari
This show is SO hilarious! Aziz Ansari is an absolute genius. Master of None is an incredible show that follows the life of a millennial named Dev. Dev, Aziz Ansari, is constantly struggling to find a balanced career and relationship. This show follows Dev on his journey to a successful life in New York. I love how every episode is so different and unique. This show also depicts his different types of friends and their back stories. Aziz Ansari is quirky and hilarious on this TV show. I love this show because something different happens in every episode. Dev always surprises us. I heard a rumor that Season 3 is just around the corner, so catch up!
1. Jane the Virgin
Stars: Gina Rodriguez, Justin Baldoni, Brett Dier, Jaime Camil
This is my favorite show at the moment! Jane the virgin is one of the most clever shows I have ever watched. The category of this show is actually an American Telenovela. If you don't know, a Telenovela is a Spanish soap opera! This story follows Jane Villanueva, Gina Rodriguez, who aspires to be a middle school teacher. At a young age, Jane was taught that after you lose your virginity, you can never go back. Since then, she has decided that she is going to save herself for marriage....until she gets pregnant. Yep, that's right, a pregnant virgin. How? I guess you have to watch it. Gina Rodriguez does such a great job playing the wise but innocent Jane. It's a very hard part to play, and she does an incredible job.
Disclaimer, this show does have sexual content, but nothing extreme. It is a network show, so they can't show anything. This is a great show to watch with your family! This show is super entertaining and wonderful!
